TFE048 is an AS568-048 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.739 in (120.37 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.879 in (123.93 mm). In service, this o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

It resists solvents, strong acids and bases, and steam. PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.

Typical settings include laboratory equipment, chemical processing, and semiconductor fabrication.
