568-263 PTFE ORINGS FDA

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-263 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D built to an inside diameter of 7.234 in (183.74 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.512 in (190.8 mm), catalogued under part number TFE263. It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and excellent dielectric properties. The compound resists strong acids and bases, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in pharmaceutical and biotech, laboratory equipment, and semiconductor fabrication.
