Part number TFE328 is an AS568-328 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.85 in (46.99 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.27 in (57.66 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. The compound resists oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and steam. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in pharmaceutical and biotech, chemical processing, and aggressive-media pipelines.
