This o-ring is supplied in AS568-333 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D built to an inside diameter of 2.475 in (62.87 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.895 in (73.53 mm), catalogued under part number TFE333. It provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. This material stands up to strong acids and bases, steam, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature call for a different compound.

Typical settings include laboratory equipment, semiconductor fabrication, and food and beverage.
