Part number TFE452 is an AS568-452 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 11.475 in (291.47 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 12.025 in (305.44 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The compound resists solvents, steam, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is specified for excellent dielectric properties and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.
