Ordered as TFE457, this is an AS568-457 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 13.975 in (354.97 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 14.525 in (368.94 mm). The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

PTFE (Teflon) is valued for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and near-universal chemical inertness. It resists strong acids and bases, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature call for a different compound.
