Q-172 FLUOROELASTOMER 75 Q RING

The QV70172 is an AS568-172 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 8.237 in (209.22 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.443 in (214.45 mm). This quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

The compound resists many acids, petroleum oils and fuels, and chlorinated solvents. Viton® (FKM) offers very low compression set at elevated temperature and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where amines or hot water and steam are present. The profile itself contributes a parting line located away from the sealing surface and resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings.

It sees regular use in semiconductor equipment, aerospace, and oil and gas.
