Q-278 FLUOROELASTOMER 75 Q RING

The QV70278 is an AS568-278 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 11.984 in (304.39 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 12.262 in (311.45 mm). This quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The compound resists petroleum oils and fuels, chlorinated solvents, and engine and transmission fluids. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving amines or hot water and steam call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes lower compressive load required to achieve a seal and resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings.

Typical settings include chemical processing, automotive fuel systems, and semiconductor equipment.
