Q-284 BUNA 70 Q RING

Part number QH70284 is an AS568-284 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 17.955 in (456.06 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 18.233 in (463.12 mm). A quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

The compound resists water, propane and butane, and petroleum-based oils. Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for strong abrasion and tear resistance, low compression set under sustained load. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It is not the right choice where strong acids or polar solvents are present. The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings.
