Viton® (FKM) delivers long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Expect good resistance to engine and transmission fluids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters are present. The profile itself contributes resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings and lower compressive load required to achieve a seal.

Typical settings include aerospace, oil and gas, and high-temperature process equipment.
