Part number QV70016 is an AS568-016 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.614 in (15.6 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.754 in (19.15 mm). A quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is valued for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The compound resists many acids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and engine and transmission fluids. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to ketones and esters or amines will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings.
