Ordered as QV70041, this is an AS568-041 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.989 in (75.92 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.129 in (79.48 mm). The quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) offers very low compression set at elevated temperature and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material holds up against aromatic hydrocarbons, engine and transmission fluids, and petroleum oils and fuels. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to ketones and esters or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a parting line located away from the sealing surface and two sealing bands per contact face rather than one.
