A quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, and many acids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and lower compressive load required to achieve a seal.
