This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-155 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 3.987 in (101.27 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.193 in (106.5 mm), catalogued under part number QV70155. It resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) delivers long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The compound resists petroleum oils and fuels, chlorinated solvents, and many acids. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in low-molecular-weight organic acids or amines. The profile itself contributes lower compressive load required to achieve a seal and resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings.
