Silicone is valued for excellent electrical insulating properties and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. Expect good resistance to weathering, ozone and UV exposure, and dry heat. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to abrasive dynamic service or steam above its rated range will shorten service life.
