In service, this o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

Silicone is known for physiological inertness and low toxicity, flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. The compound resists weathering, ozone and UV exposure, and many oxidizing chemicals.
