-148 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

Ordered as S70MD148, this is an AS568-148 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.737 in (69.52 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.943 in (74.75 mm). The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The compound resists dry heat, extreme heat and cold, and weathering. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is valued for excellent electrical insulating properties and very good compression set resistance across its range. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving hydrocarbon fuels and oils or abrasive dynamic service call for a different compound.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include sanitary process lines, medical devices, and food and beverage processing.
