Product Specification

-
Ordered as S70MD257, this is an AS568-257 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 5.859 in (148.82 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.137 in (155.88 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Silicone is widely chosen for flexibility that holds at very low temperatures and very good compression set resistance across its range. The material holds up against extreme heat and cold, weathering, and dry heat. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Applications involving abrasive dynamic service or steam above its rated range call for a different compound.

This item is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across electronics and electrical enclosures, sanitary process lines, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Stocked as S70MD257 and sold individually. Application requirements vary, so validate compatibility with your process conditions prior to installation. For a size or compound outside the standard catalog, APG can quote from a print or sample.
