Ordered as S4X140, this is a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 140 mm (5.512 in), a cross section of 4 mm (0.157 in), and an outside diameter of 148 mm (5.83 in). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, Silicone is valued for excellent electrical insulating properties, physiological inertness and low toxicity. The material holds up against extreme heat and cold, weathering, and many oxidizing chemicals. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C).
