The S1X3 is a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 3 mm (0.118 in), a cross section of 1 mm (0.039 in), and an outside diameter of 5 mm (0.2 in). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Silicone offers an exceptionally wide service temperature range, physiological inertness and low toxicity. This material stands up to weathering, many oxidizing chemicals, and ozone and UV exposure. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in abrasive dynamic service or steam above its rated range.
