S1X8 is a red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 8 mm (0.315 in), a cross section of 1 mm (0.039 in), and an outside diameter of 10 mm (0.39 in). In service, this o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

Silicone is specified here for excellent electrical insulating properties and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures.
