568-015 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

APG stocks the SV70015, an AS568-015 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 0.551 in (14 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.691 in (17.55 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

The compound resists engine and transmission fluids, chlorinated solvents, and petroleum oils and fuels. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) offers long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and outstanding high-temperature capability. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in ketones and esters or amines. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, semiconductor equipment, and automotive fuel systems.
