The SV70017 is an AS568-017 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.676 in (17.17 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.816 in (20.73 mm). This square-cut ring presents a flat rectangular section that cannot roll or twist in its groove, making it a dependable static seal.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Expect good resistance to many acids, aggressive chemicals, and engine and transmission fluids. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
