568-020 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SV70020 is an AS568-020 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.864 in (21.95 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.004 in (25.5 mm). This square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

It resists aromatic hydrocarbons, aggressive chemicals, and engine and transmission fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for outstanding high-temperature capability, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Exposure to hot water and steam or amines will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
