APG stocks the SV70023, an AS568-023 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.051 in (26.7 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.191 in (30.25 mm). A square-cut ring presents a flat rectangular section that cannot roll or twist in its groove, making it a dependable static seal.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Expect good resistance to chlorinated solvents, engine and transmission fluids, and many acids. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
