568-031 FEP ENCAPSULATED SILICONE

TES70031 is an AS568-031 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 1.739 in (44.17 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.879 in (47.73 mm). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces. Supplementary detail from the product record: ORING 70 Durometer.

PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is known for a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient silicone core and strong resistance to permeation. It resists strong acids and solvents, nearly all process chemicals, and steam. Rated temperature range runs from -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Applications involving tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, cryogenic and high-temperature equipment, and food and beverage processing.
