The material holds up against nearly all process chemicals, wide temperature swings, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is valued for a non-contaminating, non-stick sealing surface and chemical inertness of PTFE with the wide temperature range of silicone.
