This o-ring is supplied in AS568-278 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 11.984 in (304.39 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 12.262 in (311.45 mm), catalogued under part number TES70278. PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is known for chemical inertness of PTFE with the wide temperature range of silicone and a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient silicone core. The compound resists nearly all process chemicals, steam, and wide temperature swings. Continuous operating temperature is published at -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where tight-radius dynamic flexing or installation over sharp edges are present.

It sees regular use in pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage processing, and cryogenic and high-temperature equipment.
