568-421 FEP ENCAPSULATED VITON ORING

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-421 black PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® 90 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 3.975 in (100.97 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.525 in (114.94 mm), catalogued under part number TEV80421. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Expect good resistance to nearly all process chemicals, aggressive oxidizers, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE-Encapsulated Viton® is specified for a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient elastomer core and chemical inertness of PTFE with the memory of a rubber o-ring. Published continuous service range is -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in installation over sharp edges without care or service requiring tight-radius dynamic flexing.

Common environments for this compound include food and beverage, semiconductor equipment, and chemical processing.
