This material stands up to chemical attack, high pressure, and corrosion and oxidation. Stainless Steel is specified for dimensional stability under thermal cycling, excellent corrosion resistance in washdown and marine service. It should not be specified for service in galvanic pairing with dissimilar metals or chloride stress cracking in some grades.
