Stainless Steel is specified here for high mechanical strength and pressure capability, hygienic, cleanable surface suited to sanitary process lines. It resists corrosion and oxidation, high pressure, and salt water and washdown. It should not be specified for service in chloride stress cracking in some grades or galvanic pairing with dissimilar metals.
