Part number TSP006 is an AS568-006 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.114 in (2.9 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.254 in (6.45 mm). A back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

Expect good resistance to solvents, steam, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and excellent dielectric properties. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals are present.
