TSP018 is an AS568-018 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.739 in (18.77 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.879 in (22.33 mm). In service, this back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

The material holds up against solvents, steam, and nearly all industrial chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature are present.

It sees regular use in laboratory equipment, aggressive-media pipelines, and food and beverage.
