This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-110 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D measuring an inside diameter of 0.362 in (9.19 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.568 in (14.43 mm), catalogued under part number TSP110. It allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. This material stands up to oxidizing media, nearly all industrial chemicals, and solvents. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery.

Typical settings include laboratory equipment, food and beverage, and semiconductor fabrication.
