Ordered as TSP117, this is an AS568-117 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.799 in (20.29 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.005 in (25.53 mm). The back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

The material holds up against strong acids and bases, oxidizing media, and steam. PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).

Typical settings include semiconductor fabrication, aggressive-media pipelines, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
