TSP122 is an AS568-122 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.112 in (28.24 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.318 in (33.48 mm). In service, this back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for excellent dielectric properties and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. The material holds up against nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and oxidizing media. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals will shorten service life.

Typical settings include aggressive-media pipelines, chemical processing, and semiconductor fabrication.
