Ordered as TSP147, this is an AS568-147 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 2.675 in (67.95 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.881 in (73.18 mm). The back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

This material stands up to nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers excellent dielectric properties and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.
