This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-150 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D measuring an inside diameter of 2.862 in (72.69 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.068 in (77.93 mm), catalogued under part number TSP150. It bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. The material holds up against steam, oxidizing media, and strong acids and bases. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.
