Ordered as TSP266, this is an AS568-266 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 7.984 in (202.79 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.262 in (209.85 mm). The back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

Expect good resistance to strong acids and bases, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is valued for excellent dielectric properties and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery.

It sees regular use in laboratory equipment, chemical processing, and aggressive-media pipelines.
