Ordered as TSP430, this is an AS568-430 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 5.1 in (129.54 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.65 in (143.51 mm). The back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

It resists steam, strong acids and bases, and oxidizing media. PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.
