The TSP447 is an AS568-447 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 8.975 in (227.97 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.525 in (241.94 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) delivers near-universal chemical inertness and a very wide continuous service temperature range. The material holds up against oxidizing media, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.

Common environments for this compound include aggressive-media pipelines, chemical processing, and semiconductor fabrication.
