TSP450 is an AS568-450 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 10.475 in (266.07 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 11.025 in (280.04 mm). In service, this back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

This material stands up to steam, solvents, and oxidizing media. PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in aggressive-media pipelines, chemical processing, and semiconductor fabrication.
