The TST013SO is an AS568-013 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.426 in (10.82 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.566 in (14.38 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

The material holds up against oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) offers a very wide continuous service temperature range and near-universal chemical inertness. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals are present.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, semiconductor fabrication, and food and beverage.
