APG stocks the TST019, an AS568-019 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.801 in (20.35 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.941 in (23.9 mm). A back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

It resists steam, oxidizing media, and nearly all industrial chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for a very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.
