*019 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

Ordered as TST019SO, this is an AS568-019 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.801 in (20.35 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.941 in (23.9 mm). The back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

Expect good resistance to strong acids and bases, steam, and nearly all industrial chemicals. PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery.
