TST025 is an AS568-025 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.176 in (29.87 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.316 in (33.43 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

This material stands up to oxidizing media, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is known for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and excellent dielectric properties. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery call for a different compound.

Common environments for this compound include chemical processing, semiconductor fabrication, and food and beverage.
