TST037SO is an AS568-037 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.489 in (63.22 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.629 in (66.78 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

The material holds up against steam, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and near-universal chemical inertness. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature call for a different compound.
