The TST111 is an AS568-111 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.424 in (10.77 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.63 in (16 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. The material holds up against strong acids and bases, steam, and oxidizing media. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature.

It sees regular use in food and beverage, semiconductor fabrication, and aggressive-media pipelines.
