The TST114 is an AS568-114 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.612 in (15.54 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.818 in (20.78 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

This material stands up to steam, strong acids and bases, and solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for near-universal chemical inertness and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C).

It sees regular use in aggressive-media pipelines, laboratory equipment, and semiconductor fabrication.
