Ordered as TST132, this is an AS568-132 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 1.737 in (44.12 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.943 in (49.35 mm). The back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. The material holds up against nearly all industrial chemicals, steam, and strong acids and bases. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals are present.
